The Devil Incarnate by Ali Vali

Family is what matters and as the head of a crime family it must be protected at all costs!

What was the book about?
This is the eighth book in the Devil series. Of course, you don’t have to read the seven before it but if you don’t you will miss out on all the intricate and amazing story lines, some of which culminate in this novel.

Danger comes from many sides including Anthony Curtis aka Jerome Rhodes who is still bent on destroying the Casey empire. Members of the Russian mob are baying for blood and Cain is forced to be one step of them all. The Casey Clan with the help of long-time friends and allies must prevail. In between running her business Cain Casey much protect what she holds dear, her family.

Book Strengths
The way Ms Vali tells a tale is wonderful. I could not put this book down and stayed up half the night to finish it. You are kept on the edge of your seat waiting to see if and how Cain will get through. The romance in the story gives you time to catch your breath but only so much as its pretty steamy! Cain and Emma are characters that have grown and are so well written that I think I would expect to see them if I visited New Orleans. All the secondary characters, although I’m not sure if they can be actually called secondary as they have all had their own stories told in previous novels, are brilliant. They add so much depth to the story. Remi & Dallas, Muriel and Kristen, Hayden and Hannah are all there to name a few.

Book Weaknessess
Absolutely none, although I know I’m going to have to wait another year for the next book in the series!

Character Chemistry
The heat between Cain and Emma has not dimmed one iota since the first book to number 8. To say this novel starts off with a “bang” is an understatement. This couple is a team that has to survive dangerous situations and both women are have strength in their own unique way. The family and friends who are almost like family are the basis of the Casey Clan and everything is done to ensure the family not only survives but prospers.

Wrap up
You can’t go past Ali Vali for an exciting, action packed and brilliant read. I have to say that this series is my favourite. I love the characters, in particular Cain and Muriel. Ms Vali gives you the ride of your life in this book. I really envy anyone who is about to start on book one of this series The Devil Inside because they have so much to look forward to and enjoy.
